The 5 Best Underrated Anime of All Time

Must Read

Finding the right entertainment when you’re free or in the mood can be very difficult. How many more times are you supposed to watch Titanic, The Notebook, or any other equally popular movie? Granted that they are masterpieces, sometimes, you just want to watch something new. In that case, we’ve got you covered!

Firstly, when you have a TV service with a good channel lineup, your chances of finding a good movie are higher! So, if finding a good TV service is the problem, try looking for some satellite TV providers in your area, or simply head out to www.buytvinternetphone.com/satellite-tv. This way you will have access to more channels and better entertainment options.

Secondly, have you ever tried watching something other than your usual movies and TV shows? How about something like anime? Whether you have or you haven’t, we have some good recommendations for you in this blog. The anime mentioned here are unbelievably good yet they are pretty underrated, hence the need for a list!

So, let’s dig right into it!

Romeo X Juliet

This anime series is based on Shakespeare’s Romeo and Juliet as you can tell from the title. However, the story is obviously not a 100% match and that’s one thing we love about the twist. The anime is 24 episodes long. The story follows the protagonists Romeo and Juliet belonging to two opposing parties. Their meeting is a coincidence but they fall in love at first sight.

As the story progresses, both of them face various challenges and it gets difficult for the two of them to stay loyal to their families and to each other. Unfortunately, a bigger problem is just about to reveal itself that holds the power to change their fate.

Kaleido Star

Kaleido Star is a longer anime than most typical ones. It is a 51-episode-long anime and it follows the story of Sora Naegino. Sora has dreamed of being a performer at the world-famous circus, Kaleido Stage. She travels to Cape Mery, California (which is not a real town so don’t bother searching) and runs into a problem as soon as she steps out of the airport.

Unfortunately, that’s not the only problem she encounters. Layla Hamilton, a famous performer at Kaleido Stage, along with other performers is not impressed by Sora and so, she must work hard to earn their respect.

Hyouka

Hyouka is a 22-episode-long anime that follows the story of the high school freshman Houtarou Oreki who leads a very “gray” life. When we say gray, we mean a life where he conserves his energy, doesn’t overexert himself, and doesn’t do anything very exciting. However, all of that changes when he is forced by his sister to join the Classics Club to save it from disbandment.

There he meets Eru Chitanda, a super curious and animated girl that is the complete opposite of Oreki. From then on, we get to see the adventures of the Classics club including these two characters and Satoshi Fukube and Mayaka Ibara.

Yona Of The Dawn

Yona Of The Dawn is a 24-episode-long anime that is the story of a princess named Yona. Yona’s family is wiped out all in one night and she is the only one left behind. She is betrayed by her crush Soo-won when she walks in on him killing her father.

Yona flees with her bodyguard, Hak, and together, the two of them go on a journey to find a way to defeat Soo-won and seek revenge for her family. On their journey, they come across many obstacles as they try to find warriors to take back her country.

Soul Eater

Soul Eater is the second-longest anime on this list as it is 51 episodes long. While the anime was fairly well-received, it is still one of the underrated ones. The story follows the students of the Death Weapon Meister Academy, where they learn to use their abilities for combat.

In this anime, there are two types of humans, ones that have the ability to transform into weapons and ones that wield those weapons, also called meisters. The academy is run by Shinigami or Death and we see the lives of students Maka, Soul, Black Star, Tsubaki, Death the Kid, and the twins Liz and Patty.

As a Final Observation

Anime might not be everyone’s cup of tea, but if you give it a chance, it is something that is worthwhile. Some anime might not be your style, but there are so many genres out there and you just might find one that sticks with you.

And if you are an anime fan, then we expect you to go through the entire list and watch them all because as we said before, all of them are really good but underrated. Of course, there could be plenty more added to the list, but we might just keep that for another time. For now, this is it!
